Introduction

First of all I wish to praise and thank God ,then I say to those who have helped up to this paper ends. In english dictionary we have known about the tenses that there are sixteen total, in this paper we will discuss about one of the simple present tense.
In this paper we will discuss about the rules of the use of simple present tense how to use the subject and the verb in a simple present tense sentence.
Hopefully this paper is useful for those who read, can be used as reference in learning.

A. Goal
collated this paper aims so that we can understand the use of simple present tense in their daily lives. Understanding how to make sentences in simple present tense also rules the use of pronouns and verb


B. Principle Problem
1.Not understand the rules of use of subject, verb and time information in simple present tense                  sentences.
2. Can not distinguish between simple present tense with another tense .


C. Understanding simple present tense
Simple present tense using explain to one event the happen every day, the form is custom and reality. Using verb 1 in positive sentence, in negative sentence plus do or does before verb 1, to complete see in below:

D. Using do/does in English sentence
In English sentence do use when subject using do if the  subject first person singular, the second person singular , and the second person plural ,but the subject tird person singular using does

Do    = I ,We. You ,They
Does= he ,she,it

I is pronoun first person singular.
You is pronoun the second person singular.
We, they is pronoun the second person plural.
He , She ,It is pronoun tird person singular.


E. Positive structure :

Subject + verb1 st.form
Example:

1.My father goes to work every day.
S             verb 1   noun   time information.  

2.We study english twice a week.
S    verb 1 noun   time information

3.The sun shines  during the day.
S          verb 1  time information

4.They   go   abroad every year.
S    verb 1 place desciption time information

5. The earth moves round the sun.
S           verb 1   explanatory statement

F. Negative

Subject + do / does not +verb 1 st. form
Example:

1. Tono doesn’t like   to study English.
Subject            verb 1   explanatory statement

2.  I    don’t understand everything he says.
Subject      verb 1      explanatory statement

3. He doesn’t know French perfectly.  
Subject         verb 1    explanatory statement

4. I don’t feel well today.
Subject     verb 1 time information

5. We don’t need a fan in this room.
Subject        verb1   noun place descriptions.


G. Interrogative

Do/does + subject + verb 1 st . form

Example :
1.Do you enjoy your English lesson?
Subject  verb 1   explanatory statement

2.Does  this book     belong      to you?
property description  verb 1  subject

3.Do the drive to Semarang once a week?
Subject   verb 1 place descriptions  time information

4.Does your father smoke a lot ?
Subject       verb 1  





H. Third Person Singular
In english sentence simple present tense  pronoun is tird person singular then verb plus “S” or “ES” with the following conditions:

a. If verb ends “ Y “ start is consonant then “ Y “ modified “ I “ plus “S’
Example:
-to study  = studies   -to fly        = flies
-to carry  = carries    -to deny    = denies
-to try      =tries        -to marry   = marries
Etc.
b. If verb ends s, sh , ch , x ,o then added “ES”
-to kiss   = kisses       -to box = boxes
-to wish  = wishes      -to do   = does
-to teach = teaches    -to go    =goes
Etc.
c. Which does not include the above provisions only plus “ S”
-to play = plays   -to  come    = comes
-to buy  = buys   -to see         = sees
Etc.


I. Description of time spent in the simple present tense :
-in the morning     -every week   -once a week   -every morning
-afternoon           -every month   -once a month  -every night
-every day          -every year      -twice a day      -etc.
Adverbs are often used in simple present tense include :

-some times   -always  -often     -seldom

-never           -ever      -usually   -generally

-occasionally                -etc

These words are usually located between subject and verb.

Example:
a. My Sister often goes to the movie.
b. We usually eat lunch at the restaurant.
c. He sometimes gets up very late.
d. My brother seldom stays inside.
e. I always take the same bus to school.

2.C     9.L    16.T
3.D    10.M  17.V
4.F    11.N   18.W
5.G    12.P   19.X
6.H    13.Q   20.Z
